Ailsa Craig is a small community in southwestern Ontario on the Ausable River. It is located along Highway 7, 30 minutes northwest of London. This small village was named Ailsa Craig by the David Craig family after a celebrated rock at the mouth of the River Clyde in Scotland in 1858.
Ailsa Craig has a long and storied history. It was once one of the largest cattle shipping yards utilizing the Grand Trunk Railway which ran through the village, making it well known in the county. It was incorporated as a village in 1874 and today it has a population of 1000 people who enjoy the small community and the quiet village way of life.
